St. Louis Animal Emergency Clinic

• Restraining small animals
• Patient care including but not limited to taking vitals (temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate) of small animals, administering medications
• Intravenous catheter placement and monitoring of fluid therapy
• Taking and processing radiographs
• Preparing animals for surgery, monitoring patient during surgery including anesthesia
• Cleaning and setting up cages and runs
• General cleaning including vacuuming, mopping, emptying trash, scrubbing trash bins, laundry
• Setting up for and assisting with surgery
• Setting up and assisting with various procedures including GDVs, FUS cats, thoracocentesis
• Keeping supplies stocked
• Drawing blood
• Running laboratory tests
• Working as receptionist at front desk
• Running the computer program to enter client and patient information
• Handling credit cards, checks, cash
• Answer phones
• Applying concepts of triage
• Filling prescriptions
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds
• Other duties that the veterinarian deems necessary
