About Us
The St. Louis Animal Emergency Clinic has been providing emergency and advanced patient care services to pets in the St. Louis area for over 30 years.
The St. Louis Animal Emergency Clinic is an incorproated veterinary practice. Since 1977, we have been the primary emergency facility for the St. Louis metropolitan area.
The St. Louis Animal Emergency Clinic employs over 100 veterinarians and paraprofessional support staff. This includes more than 60 skilled technicians and assistants. Our technicians are required to complete a rigorous training and testing program.
The St. Louis Animal Emergency Clinic has established a relationship with the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine to facilitate emergency and critical care residency training. Residents rotate through our facility for the opportunity to work in a busy animal emergency practice and therefore treat large numbers of emergencies and critical cases. The residents also give continuing education lectures to our staff veterinarians.
There are three large local specialty clinics in the St. Louis area. The Animal Emergency Clinic regularly treats specialist emergency cases as needed and hospitalizes their patients when their facilities are closed. They also routinely receive case referrals from the emergency clinic if approved by the referring doctors.
We currently operate two 24-hour emergency and advanced care facilities and three night/weekend/holiday emergency clinics.
